Bleepbloop. Bleepbloop. Is life calling you again, why don’t you pick up?
Is raining outside? Why don’t you go out?
Leave the chair/couch/house and go out and taste the rain.
Virtual insanity as Jamiroquai’ s song says that’s the world we live in. Yesterday I was peacefully drinking my coffee in a little coffee place i use to visit a lot. I had my eyes rolling down on some golden pages and one of my hands in my fluffy little ball of fur. My dog, you dirty animal!
Anyways, as I was sitting there the silence around me caught my attention and I raised my eyes from the last word on the 25 page. At the table next to me, four young people. I assume young as all of them were drinking mate and still had that silly spark of innocence on their forehead. They were not talking, just tipping quickly on their phones. At one point one of them, the one with a little start of ginger beard started laughing and pointed to the girl next to him something on his phone. Laughs again and then “You have to send this one to me!Now, I wanna post it in Instagram”.
And then I felt old and boring. A book is a no, no compared to a really smart phone that shows you lots and lots of pictures and words and infinite wisdom. I felt old and sorry for the “new generation” that will not experience the first kiss on a bench in front of their house door, but on Facebook, Instagram, Whatsupp and so on through an emoticon. Muahhhh, kiss, kiss, a virtual kiss to all of you. Let’s celebrate our virtual insanity with a virtual kiss and a virtual person.
3. Finally I arrive to my sweet, cheerful work and I begin by starting my computer for a few minutes, go for a coffee with the girls from the office for a few more minutes, then go for a cigar for another more minutes.
Work mood activated!
And if I would make a selfie, I would probably look like this:
or this, couldn’t decide, sorry. Both look like so real.
Hey, don’t judge, I do work, where do u think I have money to afford to have internet? Some magic genie? Let me break it to you, THEY DON’T EXIST!
(to be continued in step 4, tomorrow, only on Gray and Colors) Stay tuned!
1. Wake up in the morning trying to figure out if I am still dreaming or I just woke up and need to start existing. The sun is shining and the birds are singing and I am in a good mood every morning…in another galaxy. The only thing I am thinking in that moment is my one and only sweet drug…
Always works! Please don’t share this little secret with your friends, family or whatever because maybe (baby) then maybe coffee will be EXTINCT. Lets keep it between us, like the illuminati of coffee, ok?
P.S: Aunty Acid is the coolest, funniest sites I found in a while, every post makes me laugh so much that everybody at the office think I am quite crazy at this point 😀 Enjoy!
(to be continued in step 2, tomorrow, only on Gray and Colors) Stay tuned!
Meet Brian Mashburn. The guy that succeeded on opening my mind, having a look around and then drawing pictures from my darkest nightmares.
Simple and true. The Time Wasting experiment. How do u waste your time?
A lonely and sad grandmother, an talented nephew and a lot of imagination and love. This is how the project of Sacha Goldberger started a few years ago. The French photographer decided to cheer up her grandmother, Frederika and he shoot a series of funny photos picturing the old lady in different hero costumes. The result is hilarious and the grandmother is a perfect model with an expressive face and posture. I couldn’t stop laughing when i saw the pictures. U can see more pictures and find out more about this project here.
“Frederika was born in Budapest 20 years before World War II. During the war, at the peril of her own life, she courageously saved the lives of ten people. When asked how, Goldberger told us “she hid the Jewish people she knew, moving them around to different places every day.” As a survivor of Nazism and Communism, she then immigrated away from Hungary to France, forced by the Communist regime to leave her homeland illegally or face death.Aside from great strength, Frederika has an incredible sense of humor, one that defies time and misfortune. She is funny and cynical, always mocking the people that she loves.” from here

What she says about her photos:
”There is a mission behind my photos. I wanted to make a statement in pet photography. I wanted to call it an art. It started ever since I set my hands on a camera; I knew I had unlocked a new dimension. One where you can expand your imagination and run for endless miles. Photography makes you look at things differently. You notice rain drops and the way the sun kisses the Earth. You breath in every moment of your life. You love to live and live to love. There is no time to waste because there is an urgency to capture each loving gesture, smile, and laugh in both humans and animals. Then every photograph becomes timeless and you smile, knowing that you hold a few split seconds in your hands.
I live in a box called a camera with the lens as my window and everyday I sit on my couch watching the world outside through a different perspective. No worries, my dogs are right beside me looking at it the same way.”
Me browsing the Internet.
Me searching vintage something.
Me staring with my mouth open at one picture for several minutes.
Me discovering Karla Read and google-ing her name over and over again.
Me falling in love with the old look of her photography that seem to be taken ages ago.
What can I tell you, I have a soft spot for old things and she hit that little spot. OMG, don’t think about that kind of stuff, what to u think i am a pervert or something. Really now? Just see the pictures and u will get the point. GOSHHH!!!
What she says about her work: “As every one of us, I have strong desires, unconformities and occasional nostalgia. Those feelings define every minute of my day and I’ve chosen to make up stories out of them. Photography lets me be and say what I cannot. It’s my dirty secret. My photos make this other me possible, and that explains them and my presence in this so-called art.”
